    Zinwell 6X8 Switch

    1) I, too , have NEVER had any luck controlling a Ku motor via any multiswitch. Which port on the multiswitch guarantees command delivery to the motor ? 2) The only 22khz device that I have EVER heard of , that can drive a downstream diseqc switch, is the Ecoda 22khz switch. All other...

    DVB-S2 Tuner Card for PBS

I use the usb Profs 7500 with TSreader, quite handily. The DVB-S BDA Source driver works with the tuner. :)

trying to update software in a Coolsat 8000

Negative, it needs a null modem cable. The transfer should be started at the PC, then the CS8000 powered on at the back switch. :)

SG2100 Won't Move at All (brand new motor)

I picked up a new SG-2100 from HyperMegasat a couple months ago, to pair with my GeosatPro 90cm. This SG-2100 has worked exceptionally well . My previous SG-2100, from several years ago, was a piece of junk in comparison. The SG-2100 seems to be a "crapshoot" on whether you get a good one or...

1.2 Meter Dish Compared to 0.76 Meter

The Ku band CBC feeds are strong on my 1.0M dish, in Michigan. I just scanned the C-band side and didn't pick up any CBC feeds on either 4040 or 4160 , but had other channels at 75Q .

Motor for a Winegard 1m dish

I think if any of our guys actually had this setup, they'd have spoken up by now. As Anole said, it will probably fit just fine without the shim. If you need to shim it, we'll cross that bridge when we need to, but most of has have shimmed these things for various reasons. When I use a split...

Motor for a Winegard 1m dish

I'd get a DG-380 and shim the tube if necessary with split PVC pipe. Might take a little dremel tool work on the PVC to fit it, but it'll work, I suspect. :)

I'm sure that a dual c/dual Ku lnbf would be heartily welcomed. :)

How many 4:2:2 channels do you watch regularly?

When I see 25 games from the same broadcaster in a year, and 2 of them are in 4:2:2 , I'd have to question whether it's deliberate. I suspect either a tech mid-cue or a different sat truck ... :)

How many 4:2:2 channels do you watch regularly?

Every now and then , a particular sports feed which is generally 4:2:0 , turns up as 4:2:2 video. I suspect that a tech has inadvertently made that selection . Stuff happens like that , sometimes. :)

    Repair of DG-380 motor

I'd certainly contact Sadoun support and get their opinion . They are probably the horse's mouth on this motor. If you test the motor on a short length of cable and it still doesn't work, there still might be an easy fix ( relay replacement, for example ) .

I think THAT starbox is your wisest choice. You already have it. :)

Encryption and the loss of channels or a W/F.

Last year, I started with an MLB TV sub, streaming over the internet. When Peachtree TV went encrypted, it was the last straw. Now I can watch anything "out of market" all summer. Quality is inferior, but it's better quality than MLB SD from DirectV . :(

How many 4:2:2 channels do you watch regularly?

It's been over a month since I've watched a 4:2:2 feed . When there's one I want to see, I power up my Profs 7500 and tune the feed with Tsreader/VLC . Not a frequent occurrence these days.

Send a PM to Iceberg is the usual route, I think. :)

Which Satellites Carrying Pro Football Besides 99.0W?

Because of our "No Feed Publication" policy, http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/73264-Please-DO-NOT-post-feeds-finds-not-on-Lyngsat-thelist-in-the-main-area! , I doubt that you'll get an answer in the open forum. Perhaps you should apply for the "What's up there ?" area, and we can be more...

    SG9120B with a 1.2 m Geosat Dish

I would suspect you'll get a lot of pole flex with that 1.2M unless you use at least schedule 40 2" pipe , filled with concrete . 2" Galvanized electrical Rigid conduit would also be fine. When I had a 1.2M dish, even 2" EMT conduit seemed to flex too much. I doubt you'd be happy with 1 5/8"...

Recommended Portable TV, Compatible With The MicroHD Hookup Connections

I generally leave the stb in the house. I just tune it to the tp I want, and then feed the signal out to the dish farm over a spare coax, with RCA adaptor ends. I have a 6" CRT that works fine out at the dish. I also use the same coax adaptors for long component cable runs. Works fine, and...

How do you know what you know?

The best technical electrician/troubleshooter that I ever knew ( a legend at General Motors, Lansing ) started out as a mechanic for a farm equipment dealer, he then got an apprenticeship as an electrician, and went on from there. Nothing beats hands on experience and good mechanical common...

How do you know what you know?

Experience and background, I think. My background is very strong in communications , computers , networking and electronics. No experience in satellite until 2005, but being basically a "tech nerd" , with the help of the forums, it was pretty easy to fill in the gaps and learn this new ( to...

Apparent Manhattan bug in front panel programming

It will be nice to have an extra form of "disaster recovery". That's why I like rs232 ports on receivers. Being an old electronic troubleshooter, I'm more interested in disaster recovery than in functionality, sometimes. :)
