    Too Quick, Too Bad

I will keep this and try it next time it 'disconnects'. Thanks. Of course I am afraid to try anything until there is another problem - which I am sure (based on past experience) will happen in a week or so.

    Too Quick, Too Bad

I am using a single line with a separator. It has taken me three nights and many, many, many, many reboots (soft and switch), with many different wiring configs to see if I could isolate the problem. All the while I could get everything on a separate receiver with the same wiring. Finally...

    Too Quick, Too Bad

Guess I was a little too quick in thinking my 921 was spinning along without problems. It ran for about 2 weeks without problems but on 10/18/04 my world crashed. I turned on the 921 and could not get satellite 110. Could get it on input 2 and 119 on input 1 but never together. I have now...

Installing 921 with only one cable to room

I can only say that since wiring according to SS's diagram I have had no trouble with maintaining a signal. It has been several weeks and I never went that long before without losing the 119 signal and having trouble getting it back.

    Where to go

I am almost afraid to post this since everything is working so well. I made the changes suggested by SS and the 921 has been humming along without problems since that time. Is it bad luck to post this early? I have go to off-air and back, powered off at night and so far everthing comes back...

    Where to go

I have a diplexer on the 501 but a does no good since I have a cable modem coming in on the same line from the wall so the diplexer will not get local off-air (actually I have two diplexers one line on the first one to the computer and the other line to the other diplexer. On the second one one...

    Where to go

I can't get to the feeds. No ladder - have to hire the local sat to do it and they have not proven to do the best thing. I did reconnect the cables per your suggestion (one diplexer) and it (119) was still connected this morning. Will wait and see tonight.

    Where to go

Wow - I am getting a little more confused. Cannot remember who anymore but I was told the diplexer HAD to be before the power inserter. I am not disagreeing with you or contradicting you - just trying to understand. I have to have the OTA capability and there is only one cable from the wall...

    Where to go

I am reaching a breaking point. Everynight now the 119 will not connect. I have to haul the other receiver into the 921 area, reset the switch, reset the 921, first try to connect thru the power inserter, then if that does not work, directly from the wall, which usually works (sometimes thru...

    Where to go

I think I am also. I assume OTA is 8VSB-TV Antenna In? OK here goes again. Let's forget what the tech. did - I don't agree with it either. Back to the original. Cable from wall to diplexer. Diplexer high to Inserter, low to 8VSB-TV Antenna In. From Inserter to separator and then to...

    Where to go

Ssso much for my theory of inserting the new Hi-Low and not go thru the 921. My Sat. 119 disappeared again today. Could not get it back so drugged out the other receiver, connected the power inserter to it - no 119. Put on another cable (since the 119 is still going stron in the other room)...

    Where to go

Satellite 119 has been re-connected but I’m not sure why. I had a local satellite tech guy come by. Just before he got here I re-set the switch three times and on the third time I got a 119 signal but hit ‘Done’ instead of ‘Check Switch’ but there was no picture or sound. I re-set it again and...

    Where to go

Well I did post one over there (from one of your cross references on another thread. I keep hoping someone from Dish will see and respond somewhere. Dish has NEVER returned an email for tech service (and I have sent several over time)- the only way I have ever been able to get thru to them is...

    Where to go

Sorry I was unclear. The power inserter, receiver, etc. are all plugged into one power strip. I have turned off the power strip several times - once for 8 hours. But no 119. I did not turn off the 501 in the other room however.
  15. K

    Where to go

If that means turning off the power to the receiver, which includes everything hooked to it, I have done that several times. Maybe I have to turn off the power to the second room 501 also?

    Where to go

I have a DPP44 mounted on the rooftop Dish. I have a 501 receiver in room two and it never loses 119 or 110. There is a single wire coming into the 921 room to goes to a Diplexer, then one wire to the TV (for off-air) and one to the power supply. Then out of the power supply to the Dish...

    Where to go

Thanks - I have called tech support - advanced - they are no help. Have powered off twice. Wish there was a way to diagnosis what is happening inside.

    Where to go

I seemed to have lost connection to satellite 119 on my 921. I can get 110 all the time but no matter what I do 119 will not connect. My 501 in the other room still has 110 and 119 (never loses it no matter what). I did not buy the DVR 921 locally - since they did not have it yet. Question...

    Another DVI-HDMI Issue with 921

921 Amen - I am having all kinds of trouble with the 921. I think I might go cable. I turn it on and get all the lights on the receiver but no picture, no sound. I reset the receiver but no picture, no sound (a black screen). I go to the signal page and get the signal, check the switch -...

    Help - off-air connection

Thanks - I have a hard time understanding the technical terms and stuff. Your diagram is appreciated.

    Help - off-air connection

Does that mean I cannot access the off-air antenna unless I can run a separate cable into the house (which I cannot do)? So off-air is out of the equation

    Help - off-air connection

I have a dish 500 with a wrap around antenna for off-air stations. I just put a DPP44 on the dish since I can only have one cable inside the house. In the house the cable from the wall is attached to a power inserter, which in turn has a cable to a separator and from the separator to Input 1...
