    Unsuccessful installation attempt-No LOS

Unfortunately, he needs to go farther from the house, about 30-50 feet to clear a rather large tree right next to the house. There is no LOS to 110/119 from the house itself. 61.5 is easily sighted though. Does anyone know if I would have the same issues with DirecTV? My eastern exposure is...

    Unsuccessful installation attempt-No LOS

Funny, I did look at my neighbors perfect site line with envy and dropped a hint that I would love to place my dish on his house. He joked only if I dropped a line into his house. Anyhow, the Dish tech looked at me looking for the go-ahead. 'Course I was just joking and my neighbor didn't really...

    Unsuccessful installation attempt-No LOS

It looks like I'm not a Dish candidate. The tech came out today, took out his compass thingy and gave me the bad news. I can site 61.5 no problem, but there is no LOS to 110/119 EXCEPT for a pole mount on the lawn...the FRONT lawn. I slowly took this in knowing that the line of trees...

    To early for this ad?

I ordered E* 2 days ago and the first install offering was 9/1! So I guess the advert is OK by me.

    New Promos 08/15

I just set my appt up and asked Dish to confirm the hardware that I was to be receiving. They quoted that I would get a 722(cool) and a 222. Not knowing what a 222 is I just looked it up and found out that it is an HD tuner. Hmmm, I specifically told the CSR that I only had 1 HDTV. Can I just...

    New Promos 08/15

I just pulled the trigger on AT&T for a 6M DSL, Ultd local and long distance, Top200 DVR HD service for $125 a month. It sounded like AT&T had all of the rebates and offers of E* but a couple were different. I don't have to make an 18 month commitment for the $50 activation to be waived although...

    New Promos 08/15

I was going to bundle a package through AT&T with DSL and POTS which I was told would essentially be the same as going through DISH network with the included rebates and such. So if I do this tonight I would get a $200 rebate but no guarantee of receiving a 722. Would the AT&T sales person even...

    Charter Customer Considering E*

Unfortunately, FIOS is not available in my area and U-verse, while expected to be, is currently not available either. While I would prefer naked DSL and VOIP, I'm going to be forced to go with DSL + unlmtd local/LD instead due to the POTS requirement

    New Promos 08/15

Are we sure that they will definitely send a 722 after 8/15? I would imagine that it's possible that we wait until after 8/15 and the tech comes with a 622.

What promotions will they have on 8/15 for new customers?

    Charter Customer Considering E*

110/119 abd 61.5? Are these different satellites? Why would my setup require pointing two separate dishes at two different satellites? I don't ask because I disagree, I just know absolutely nothing about Sat TV so it seems odd to me. Plus I don't recall seeing too many people with 2 dishes on...

    Charter Customer Considering E*

I just called AT&T and they bundled a E* Top200, HD, DVR + 1 additional tuner, Unlimited Local/LD phone w. services incl vmail, up to 6M 'Elite" DSL for $134.97. The CSR said that I would not be able to get this deal online as they were using a "come back" offer to reduce the cost of the phone...

    Charter Customer Considering E*

Charter would be $50 for their 5 meg service but that's not cool. I would rather see if I can bundle a 3 Meg service plus flat rate phone for about $60. So far, I only see this price for the 1.5meg service + phone.

    Charter Customer Considering E*

Hancox, I'm in your neck of the woods actually, Trumbull. I priced Charter's 5MB service at $49 w/o TV and my Vonage costs $30. I'd like to see if DSL can do better otherwise, there really won't be any price differential between Charter and E*, only product differentiation.

    Charter Customer Considering E*

Ken, Actually it's ATT that is offering the Dish Network as a 3 way bundle with Internet and Phone. Sounds good but their site makes it very difficult to figure out if it's any kind of real deal. I'm no sports fan so I won't miss the few things that Charter offers.

    Charter Customer Considering E*

I'm a CT-based Charter Comm customer and I'm considering going with satellite to improve my HD line-up and if I'm lucky, to save a buck or two. I've never been an E* subscriber so I should be eligible for a free Vip722 soon which should be a big upgrade to the SA 8300HD DVR that I currently...
