When you watch something thats on demand, you're essentially renting it. It shows up under rentals in the dvr menu(on the hopper), the program will stay there anywhere from 10-30 days, the expire.

Pq was hd'ish. Not as clean as the ipad or stuff from itunes (which i think is 1080p). But it wasnt sd either. It was full screen as well, no need to zoom or stretch

I can confirm that it works! I just bought an apple digital av adapter (lightning to hdmi) connected my ipad 4 (running ios8), to my avr and was able to play back a show that was on my dvr, and live tv as well. No video on the ipad, just on the tv. No dolby digital sound either, just 2 channel...
