Thank you much for your very useful comments. I'm going to grab a couple of sw21 and give it a shot this weekend. Two SW21 seem to be $10 landed via ebay. I'll give the two local SAT Dealers a call to see what they can do. They might have some dusty switches hiding under a desk . ;-}

My dish it up ..web page shows $149 for the vIP-622. No install fee and a $50 credit in the form of a mail-in rebate. No link to the mail-in rebate at this point. Also the $100 rebate at $10/month for 10 months seems to have disapeared.

There is an addional $50 mail-in rebate on the receiver. The lease charge on a VIP-622 is $6 I thought I knew how DVR Advantage works but at this point I have no clue. Apparently the dish Web person is also clueless. I just Build your Dish thingie. It's is broken as it adds HD-enable fee of $6...

Most people get a "free" install. Dish is quite pushy about requiring an install on the Vip-622. If you already see Sat-129 ( VooM and some other HD channels ) then ya , the installer will simply swap receivers.
