does anybody know what type of connector is used for the wand? is it rca/svid/etc? can it be lengthened? also does the wand have to be set up at the tv screen or can it be adjacent to it? my electronics cabinet is 15ft to the right of my screen and all my cabling is buried behind the walls

I have a one4all kameleon 9960 uni remote and a dishpro 508 sat/pvr. I am unable to 'teach' this remote to work with sat/dvr. It works great with all other equip (sony dvd, cd, receiver/amp, hdtv). Anybody familiar with the kameleon. Know of any other universals that work well with dish 508...
