quick update... Got replacement 622 that I originally installed on March 31. Activated it yesterday around 4PM CDT and it has been on ever since and during that time it has been rock solid, not one glitch at all. I don't know if the letter at the end of the code on the receiver is really...

Just thought I'd let everyone know. I bought a 622 that arrived on 30 March. About 10 minutes after it was authorized it started the SBSOD (Screaming Black Screen of Death) and would randomly do it while it was on, sometimes running for 1-4 hours just fine and other times it would do it...

I disabled that setting the first day I got the receiver (last Thursday) and I've had the SBSOD since then. I would get the SBSOD's with L355 but not a lot, since the L356 the audio synch is much better but the 622 SBSOD's a lot more now, even with the setting for auto-shutoff disabled.

I can't seem to get the picture to work out like I think it should. On the receiver (622) I've set it to 720p (don't know if 1080i is better, can't tell the difference) and 16x9 aspect ratio. My problem with this is when I go to standard def. tv I want it to be 4x3 aspect ratio so it doesn't...

I witnessed the SBSOD last night during grey's anatomy also... and several other times during the evening. You were right on the money with the fixes, since L356 the audio synch seems a lot better and the reboots with screaming noises and then 3 minutes of silence seem to happen a lot...
