D* didn't call or show up yesterday for my scheduled install of 2 HR-20's and 5 LNB dish. After being transfered 4 times and placed on hold for almost 20 minutes I received a $100 credit for the missed appointment. Between this $100 credit and all of the other credits and free movie channels...

That is ironic, I was placed on the waiting list on the exact same day, and I am also in S.E. Michigan, I have not heard anythning from D*...

Has anybody in the Detroit market received the slimline dish yet? I am contemplating replacing my HR10-250's, but I want to be sure I will get the new dish with the install.

I called and complained about D* turning off channels without any notification. They gave me free HD for 4 months. I can't complain about that!

Who actually has that dish installed, and is it available in the Detroit market?

You will not get a Tivo brand DVR, instead you will get a buggy D* DVR.

I am in Sterling Heights, when I had my last HR10-250 installed about month ago D* cancelled once due to lack of receivers. On the rescheduled day they called in the am and said they were waiting for receivers. They finally showed up at 5pm, original install was set for 8am-12pm. Called D*...

D* recently signed a 3 year support agreement with Tivo, so you should be good for a couple of years.

The pole is probably painted, which means that it can't be used for grounding. Pound in a 8 foot ground rod and run a wire from the ground rod to the dish. You can get a 8 foot copper ground rod from Home Depot or Lowes for about $20, then send your installer the bill!

This is occuring on two different computers. One at home, and one at work. Both have Firefox installed with the default configuration.
