Sadly, not new. Started for me months ago. I lost a few EHDs worth of recordings and contacted Dish. I knew the recordings were there, but the Hopper no longer saw them. For a while, I was helped. Then, Casper. I might try to copy (via Linux) those EHD recordings over to new larger HDDs. But...

What s/w do you use to transfer music from PC (CD etc) to thumb drive? Do you get album lists, song titles etc? Or just label the USB drive? Any choosing which track to play?

Was the original "filming" done on FILM? Or maybe high quality (Red) digital, oh those many years ago?

I chose my words poorly. I meant I can watch directly from the EHD, but cannot xfr from the EHD to the internal HDD.

So don’t get up until after noon.

Sigh. Just discovered my H3 will not xfr from an EHD. I can see the recordings, and watch remotely, but that’s it. If I try to go to select titles to transfer (red button) I just get a screen with no recordings listed. Hope this gets fixed soon. But after my other EHD problems, I doubt it will...

There are no new ones. Manufacturing stopped years ago. Why not lease? Less money upfront and same monthly rate. And with Dish declining, I don’t see much of a resale market.

Yes, there are some ATSC 3 stations broadcasting. I suspect you are right about that being a DRM indicator. That also is in some use.

Well, here I am to rain on your parade. I have a similar problem with my H3 no longer recognizing some of my EHDs. No help from Dish. So you may move from one box to another but the problem remains. Sigh. :( I might try to clone the old EHDs onto a new, larger EHD. Someone posted how here...

Tapatalk app? The old SatelliteGuys Reader apps aren’t supposed to work anymore. In fact, I have both old SG apps installed and if I try to call them up, it says no longer available at the store: keep or delete. And 18.3 doesn’t install until tonight.
