we have an HDR-34 receiver and a slimline SWM 3 dish. We go RVing and take the receiver with us. We have a separate, identical dish to that we have at the house that we use when RVing. OK, problem is i'm not getting a satellite signal to the receiver even though i've got good signal strength...

thanx for the info guys. I went ahead and exchanged the reflector for another that's as it should be so i don't have to be thinking that the reason i can dial the dish in is because of the 'dimple' :D

the dimple/dent is about half way up on the "I" in "DIRECTV"

i recently bought a slimline dish and noticed it has a small dent in the reflector surface, i.e. it's dented inward slightly on the reflector surface. Only reason i noticed it was I saw it on the back side of the dish where it's sticking up a little. It's pretty smal and is like a little dimple...
