I'm not using a receiver. I thought that those channels from Echostar would work with a CAM module on the computer with a TBS QBox CI S2 and I'm now talking about illegal stuff, WHICH I'M NOT DOING! But to check because I did some research on my own with Lyngsat and other sources.:)
I thought of watching the channels from Echostar and Nimiq 5 on DVBDream, and I was wondering, is there a Nagravision 3 CAM module? I thought of buying it in the future.:)
Well, I was thinking of ABC, CBS, NBC, etc stations and maybe some other channels (CN, Nick, etc) but I still can't get most Canadian channels because for either a Bell or Shaw smartcard, might be too hard to get...
I just want a Nagravision CAM or maybe a Dish, DirecTV, Bell, Shaw card (before I buy the TBS 5980) and I'M NOT HACKING OR ANYTHING!, but I just wanna know where to buy it...
I'm asking again, that with the TBS 5980, if you wanna watch encrypted TV, it requires CAM and a smartcard. Does it require both or does it go separate (only the CAM or only the smartcard)?
Also, I learned from seeing a TBS 5920 that if you want to see encrypted channels, you should have a CAM and a smartcard. Are those requirements (CAM and smartcard) used for both or it's just seperately and-- PLEASE DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME OR JUST BEING SILLY OR RUDE!! I JUST NEED TIPS!!!
I got info of what sats I would receive at Geosatfinder.com (to check and see what sats I could receive, then get compass reading, dish elevation and LNBF rotation) and then satbeams.com (for the list of channels on the satellite). Would those sites help?
Well, it's a long story...:o I'm interested in buying a USB satellite tuner for my "lappy" which has Windows 7, then I went to SatBeams, and there were some channels that are unencrypted and then I learned that encryption has it's price... then I signed up to the site a month ago to get help...
Well, I mean maybe what you said, and also Bell and Shaw... and I do learned I found 2 Canadian channels (YTV East & West) is unencrypted in Anik F1R of Ku-band..
While looking at channels from around the world and also North America at satbeams.com, I learned that sometimes you can't get most of the channels because of how they are encrypted in Ku-band and sometimes in C-band for example, channels like Cartoon Network East on Galaxy 3C aren't encrypted...
