Every Hisense TV that I have hooked a Hopper up to has a small problem. The DISH remote will turn the TV on and off and adjust volume, but when you first turn it on there is a screen shot that the DISH remote will not remove. You have to use the Hisense remote to get it off of the screen. Have...
My 922 was acting weird last night in that it was slow reacting to skip-forward, etc. This morning I turned it on and all my DVR recordings were gone and all my timers as well. I wondered if there was a new software download last night that caused this or was it just my unit?
I have a customer who I installed for last week who claims that his DVR is changing its priority on its own. He sets it to record his shows on #1 and when he gets up in the morning, it has changed all his shows to #2. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or if he just has a...
After you change out remotes, go to "system info" and do the hold, #, and record thing, then you need to unplug the receiver to reset. It will then reset to work on the new remote with no slow guide issue.
The only brand of TV I have had an issue with has been Vizio. I have changed out the remotes for them and no problems after that. Does anyone know how to go into the tv menu and disable that feature. I haven't been able to find it.
Run a new piece of coax straight from the receiver to the dish. It sounds like a bad cable. I had a customer with the same problem and new cable fixed it. I did try a separator first but that didn't help. Try a temp cable first before going to the trouble of routing it like the old one. Just run...
I was stopped by a total stranger again today in a parking lot. He saw the DISH sign on my truck and stopped me to tell me that he had been a long-time DISH user and recently switched to Direct TV. He told me that they lied to him about several things in order to get him to switch and he now...
There are people who watch nothing but sports and there are those who watch nothing but locals. It doesn't matter what DISH does, it will not make EVERYBODY happy. They have try to hit the middle of the road with both.
I had the very same thing happen with a customer last week. It had me scratching my head for a while. It ended up being a bad cable. I first tried a new separator with no success. It worked perfectly on both tuners after I ran a new cable.
Set your signal strength screen on 72.7, peak your dish on it, and the other two will be there too. You will need to raise your dish about 1 degree and turn it about 1/4 inch towards the west.
Sounds like you have your receiver set on "single tv" rather on "dual". Push the button under the door on the right side that is labeled "mode". If it is in dual mode it should work normally.
Try turning your receiver off at the power button on the receiver. It sounds like you need to update your software on your 301. It will turn itself back on within 15 minutes and download then download the guide. It should work then. Can't hurt to try.
Does anyone have access to remote codes for some of the off-brand TV's that would work for a DISH remote? There are some brands not listed in their manuals.:)
Zenith bought their dishes from Winegard and their mounts from Ajax for the horizon-to-horizon action then painted them with a cheap black paint instead of the powdercoat paint used by Winegard. I think their receivers and actuators were made by Channel Master.
I would say that if your system has been working perfectly for 5 years, it should be left...as is. I have seen lightning COME IN through the ground wire. I know the code, but...if it works, don't FIX it.
Thanks so much for all your responses. It seems that the 44,000 mile trip is the main problem compared to bouncing off a tower 1/4 mile away as he had been doing before. I hope I can help you guys sometime too. Thanks.
I am a DISH dealer and installer. I have run into my first problem with MAC equipment. I have a customer with MAC's and he wants to chat with i-Chat to family members. It seems that WildBlue will not allow him to chat through the i-Chat program. Is there a way around this problem or am I going...
