    IT'S OFFICIAL NO FIREWIRE ON 921!

    The 322 and 522 IRDs use a Broadcom chip with the main processor integrated into it. - the 721 and 921 use a Broadcom chip for the PVR function and a seperate processor(x86 based) Broadcom has since released an HD version of the chip the 522 uses. Its cheaper(and I bet the 922 will be as well)...

    Blue Lines in Video on 921

    reedl, has anyone told you what the fix is or can you find out? I'm just wondering if its a simple problem like the wrong part was installed(such as a resistor) or is it more serious then that? I still wonder if all 921s suffer from the problem but its just not visable on some TVS

    PEAK INSIDE MY NEW 921!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The expansion slots are not standard PCI - a regular PCI slot has a long and a short section for the connector, in the 921 it goes short, long, short. The 921 only recording two HD streams at once is a limitation of the Broadcom 7021 PVR processor they are using - this is the same limitation...

    DVR921 version L142 added to the Dish Software matrix!!!

    The official dish software matrix has been updated to include the DVR921 - so they must be shipping a few out. The initial version is L142 So who will be the lucky few to get one before Christmas?
