    If Cablevision didn't encrypt the Broadcast Basic channels, why doe they say "digital channel encrypted"? Will rescanning bring the channels back?

    In May 2010, Cablevison made the change over to all digital which means all tvs need a cable box in order to view any and all channels. Well, I have a TV with a built in QAM Tuner and was able to view channels 2 through 21 with just the cable wire connected to the TV. Until yesterday. Now...

    Toshiba said my TV has a QAM tuner built in. So, on May 18, 2010, will I have to do anything to keep viewing the Broadcast Basic channels?

    Not happy about this at all. We only get 2 free cable boxes, for 2 years, and we have 4 tv's in the house. One of the TV's was purchased in 2009, will that still work, without the cable box? What is this QAM Tuner? Is it something you buy plug into your TV?
