    Laptop to PVR

    I have a Bell 9241 HD PVR and a older Sony TV that is not HD. I want to connect my laptop with HDMI to my PVR, but when I connect it to the hdmi plug on my PVR nothing happens, can anyone make some suggestions other than go buy a new tv. Thanks
