    Endeavoring to endeavor

For about 3 1/2 hours now, since I put all this together, I have searched, adjusted, readjusted, bumped and begged. All I got was a brief flash on the Q and never found it again. After reading the manual with the motor for the 10th time...am I close to right.??? Motor angle setting sets to my...

    Endeavoring to endeavor

might as well clear up a couple other issues, and take a few minutes to mull this over. Using satfinder, tells me with a motor, my az is 89.61. Is that my actual true south compass heading? Nahhhh. Not making myself believe this. Thought south was 180. Not looking at something...

    Endeavoring to endeavor

Decided to start from scratch. Setting the new, and PLUMB pole today. Looks like in the winter time, my arc is going to run from around 82 Nim4(?) all the way to 148w. Got one block at around 100-110deg., extremely large oak tree, but other than that..looks good. Dish will be about 5 1/2...

    Using a coolsat7000

Thanks Lak7.:up Didn't realize that the same sats could even be both C and ku. Been out looking over the motor situation, and I'm going to have to do a little bit of fabricating, otherwise I have to go back to square one. The arm o.d. on the motor is considerably smaller than the i.d. of the...

    Using a coolsat7000

I'm thinking it's the transponder list, but I'll check again when my young'un gets tired of cartoons after while. Don't know if CS is like a Visonsat , but I'll do some looking and see how they compare. I am thinking since folks use the CS 5000 and 6000 units, the 7000 will do OK. BTW, does...

    Using a coolsat7000

Moving along to more questions...I am using a coolsat 7000 (recently donated to me cheap). No manual. I noticed that some things, like recmnd freq settings, are not there. Skips over what is recommended to higher or lower. Is the CS going to do the job, or should I go for something different...

    dishnet lnbs...again

I gave some thought to multiple dishes, but kind of limited on the space because of tree obstructions. I already have a motor, and thought it might be an "experience" to set it up. Right now, I only have 2 of the fss lnbs, since I haven't been able to make the trip back for more stuff. I've got...

    dishnet lnbs...again

Thanks pendragon. Actually, it will only rotate about 45 degrees ccw looking from the dish toward the lnb. With the single ear up, the flats are then vertical, so that's where I'll leave it. I believe your right about it being 105, from what I was told by the "donor". Do I need to eliminate...

    dishnet lnbs...again

Thanks for those quick answers and info. The lnb that has fss stacked (pin 122677 ... getting kind of obvious now) on the back "is" aligned with the arm, but sure is a weird looking rig. 3 ears on the plastic cover and it adjusts. The other 2....1 says dishpro digital lnbf (this is the center...

    dishnet lnbs...again

Sorry to rehash this...but I can not find the thread I was looking for concerning dn lnbs. Using a superdish, which o.e. lnb is the proper one to use? New to this hobby, and I've confused myself. Is it the one that has fss on it (adjustable) or the outer most lnb? I want to start out on 123w...

Welcome New Members! (Please Say HI here!)

Hi to all. New to shooting for the true free to air sats, so, I'll have a lot of questions along the way. Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid with an old shortwave radio looking for voices from all over the world.
