Downgrading package and Free HD for Life?

I talked to two agents, both who checked with their supervisors, and both who assured me that I was able to downgrade to Choice Xtra without problem. I am almost positive however that Ultimate was the minimum required to keep the package when I signed up. Neither seemed to be able to look it up...

Downgrading package and Free HD for Life?

Sorry to keep asking about this, but just so I understand... If I cancel the day before it expires, I will get the first 29 days free but have to pay for a prorate of the lower package for a day, right? and if I cancel the day after it expires I will have to pay a prorate for the higher package...

Downgrading package and Free HD for Life?

So you prorate downwards too? So if I called a few days into my next cycle, it won't charge me the whole month? How do I find out what *I* have to have?

Any fees for deactivating a receiver?

I have a standard def receiver I am not using. I have 2 other HD receivers on the account. I have a good chunk of my 2 year agreement remaining. Will deactivating/returning the SD receiver incur any fees or contract extensions?

Downgrading package and Free HD for Life?

I signed up for the Ultimate package at the start of the NFL season. My 5th bill has been paid and I am ready to downgrade. I seem to remember stipulations about Free HD for Life (something like a minimum of Choice Xtra and auto pay required) if I downgrade. I can't find this written everywhere...

    MRV and OnDemand

So anyway, if I get a broadband DECA adapter w/ power supply, plug it into the SWiM module, and use a wireless gaming bridge to hook it up to my router, I should be good to go... right?

    MRV and OnDemand

Wherever this text came from, it doesn't exactly clarify the situation either. Saying you need a router with an ethernet port and a connection between your HD DVR and router makes you think you would plug the hd dvr into the ethernet port via cat5, no?

    MRV and OnDemand

I guess its like this... Had I not been paying $3 a month for whole-home dvr, I could have just spent $25 on a plug-and-play device to get me up and running. But, because I chose this "upgrade" I now need to pay to have a tech much more to do an installation? Also, the text on the package...

    MRV and OnDemand

I just got Directv installed today and didn't realize I needed anything extra for on-demand to work.. Were they supposed to offer this to me when I ordered? Would they have installed it when they came out for the initial install without me having to pay for a 2nd trip?

    2 year commitment

I have never used a satellite service. I didn't sign up over the phone. I didn't look at a receiver in best buy. I received in ad quoting a price in the mail (with no mention of commitment) went to the website, which I read for several hours over a few days, and signed up. Nowhere during that...

    2 year commitment

I am confused. I signed up for Directv and nowhere during the signup process did it seem to indicate that there was a 2 year commitment. It also seemed that my price wasn't locked in for those 2 years. When I got my confirmation email, it had down at the bottom that I was committing to two...
