**Sling Transfers -- how does it work?**

QUOTE="dare2be, post: 3664544, member: 168604"]Scott answered that question in post#2. No. Actually, the original post was: And Scott's reply was: Note that Scott didn't specify where on the hard drive - in the regular, 'My recordings' space (leaving room for fewer recordings), or in some...

**Sling Transfers -- how does it work?**

I realize this is a very old thread, but I just got a Hopper with Sling; as far as I can tell, no one has really answered the key question posed here - are the transcoded programs stored in some hidden/inaccessible area of the Hopper's disk, and therefore do NOT affect the space available for...

    2/5/2009 2:12am Uplink Activity Report - 92 changes

Got my sat system going again but don't know if its permanent

    Moving

Heh. You don't. It's one of the more infuriating things Dish does. You get an awful lot of "I'm very sorry for your inconvenience, sir", but no actual solution. They won't even let you *pay* them for locals that are on a spot beam pointing 3,000 miles away, just so they'll stop blocking your...

    Newbie Spotbeam Question

You can choose any of the DMAs carried on that spot beam and you'll be fine. One thing - I don't think you mentioned HD locals...if you might be interested in those (now or in the near future), that could influence your choice since not all of those DMAs have their HD locals available on Dish...
