Thanks. I have ordered a 211K to stay in the cabin (read above) and I'll use the 211Z as a playback machine only in the TT. Maybe I can test both soon. That is if I can use either without being hooked up to dish (read listed on my account) to test OTA reception?

Fresh off the phone with Dish fyi. Regarding differences in OTA reception/record-ability with a 211K with its onboard tuner or a 211Z with a external single tuner. There is no difference.

I suspect you are right about the K and I am leaning towards going that direction. I don't have much in the Z and its new to me tuner anyway. I looked at the Wally but, and certainly a topic for another thread, I ruled it out.

I have planned to buy and use a 211k, because of its onboard ota tuner, all along. Since I already own a 211z, the z will be used as a playback machine only. Good to know re: multi EHD's. As of 4 days ago, D reps were quoting same price on refurbs. Thanks

I tried this and it made so difference. Finally I moved the dish with the actuator until I was somewhere between 97 and 101 (not showing any signal from either that is) and in spite of not showing a lock on 99, I blinded scanned it anyway. Mysteriously, I got the channels from 99. I still don't...

I set up a dish for a friend today. Got on the TS sat with no problem. Moved west and got 97W and 101W without problems but no lock on 99W. Quality meter bounces from 14 to 38. TIA
