Is there a box out there that will use a motorized setup to scan for everything out there automatically?

I know I've been out the loop for a while but man. Almost all the names have changed. Haven't touched my setup since last November. Now the neighbor's tree is block what used to be T5! I might just need to tweak my aim a bit....grrrr

I'm doing that now. But wouldn't it be nice if it could be remotely controlled with software. With IF out you only get V or H signal you get up and change it.

That's what I would like to be able to do. I could slave out the setup top box use it for blind scanning and motor control.

I know the pansat has a com port. I was wondering is possible to access motor control through the port. I would like to use it with my dvb setup. That would would make life easier.

Yeah, I was using it for the pc card. The amp is powered 18v and 13v plugins. Its not working like I hoped it would. I tested it first with my box before pluging it into the card. I lose motor control and it skews my signal:(

I've got a channel master in line amp for my dvb. From what I understand the card struggles to put out the need power to control my motor. I was wondering should I use the 13v or the 18v?

You'll need live and current tps. Amc9 can be a pain to lock cause tps sometimes changes. You'll get tps signal but no id sometimes. I rember when I first locked onto amc9 I had realy strong signal then all of a sudden it went dead. I did a blind scan found that the tps went silent.

Is there a way use smaller dishes to make up the surface needed? I think it would be an issue of angles.

I used a roof mount for my dish. You can get them at home depot. Basicly it slides under the shingles. Then you just mount the dish on top. All holes are coverd by the shingles, no leaks to worry about. I've seen a lot of people just screw them into the roof in my are:eek:

I had the same problem. Turns out the sat. setting got currpt. It started acting wired after I did a blind scan and left on ding a thunder storm. After using the pansat's editor to look at the bin files. I found that the supsect sat. had a voltage setting at 12v instead 0v.

I wouldn't worry about if its hackable or not. I would worry about manufacture support. What your gonna wont is good blind scanning and the ability to edit your channels and sats. If knew more about fta'ing I wouldn't have gotten a pansat 2700a, its bugy. The new firmware fixes and creats...

I wish I could get g10r. Right now T5 and amc3 are my main sats. It getting hard to find someone to trim a tree in florida. Everyone wants it done since its now hurrican season.

Any good home enterainment center has ability to deal with digital sound. I saw a Kenwood recevier the other day at salvation army for $20. It had a digital input.

All I can say is make sure you have varified current tp signals for your refrance sat.

Are you using a the tp that came with it ? If so, thats part of your problem.
