    Does DirecTV alter power on its local channel spot beams?

    The other night I was watching local channels from a fringe area on the edge of the beam. During prime time the signal was load and clear, but promptly at 11:00 pm it started to break up. I wondered if DirecTV increases power during prime time. Does anybody know?
