It is definitely not an IR remote, it is a UHF remote. You don’t even have to be in the same room to control the receiver.

i would just goto solid signal atleast you know your going to get what you pay for!!! if you have prime amazon might be the way to go to!!! though dish is the cheapest id'e rather avoid the clown shows all together and just call in an do an activation!!! the joey 4 from dish is $ 100.00 plus tax...

Received the email today.

It took a couple of months before I received an email acknowledging receipt of the Hopper.

I printed the proof of delivery from UPS to the Dish Warehouse in El Paso. I noticed on the Dish website they have the same tracking number as the new one they sent me. When I reversed the label as instructed, it was a different number. I'm sure it takes the awhile to check them in. I just...

Yes, they both use a UHF remote. Both the Hopper and Joey also have an IR setting to allow IR remotes as well. The Hopper Plus and Joey 4 do not work well with IR though.

It can allow them to capture PPV revenue in cases where cx is unable or unwilling to broadband connect, but has landline. Does hopper, joey use UHF remote?

I appreciate all the back and forth, enlightening and fun. This project will be when construction is done. At that point I think I will put my existing Joey out on the 200' run and see how it works. At that point SolidSignal may get some business. Thank you all for perspective
