Hello, I just joined up too. I have a standard DirecTV setup, and a older ADTH 8600IR satellite box that was used when The Filipino Channel was on it. I'm going to attempt to recycle that for FTA use...whether that works or not I have the 30 inch dish to hook up with a newer receiver.

I actually have a similar model (the ADTH 8600IR version) and was hoping to bring it back into use as a FTA receiver. We used to have it for my wife's Filipino Channel service, but they went to DirecTV and so did we, but we left the dish in place. It's like stereo, we have dishes on both sides...
