Dish Size for Michael Savage @ 139

I get it on my 6 foot dish.

Nice to know there other JP1 users here, I was beginning to think I was the only one here.

    Reed Sensor

I seem to be having the same problem with the same actuator from Sadoun and mine is only a couple months old. And not nearly as cold here as you report. The counts just keep dropping in value. For example on Nov 2, when I installed the actuator, AMC 1 was at a count of 145, by Nov 24 it was...

    Avast False Positive!

I had the same problem. Deleted lot of files on my netbook. Stopped it with a paper clip reset, after googling. But makes me wonder if the the antivirus can't be trusted, which is worse to get a virus or delete phony ones on lots of files.

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Actuator is controlled by GBOX 3000 in stand alone mode, not connected at all to the receivers.

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Last night I noticed a problem with the setup using a third receiver for just C band in the bedroom. I had the living room TV on a Ku satellite and was planning to watch a show in half an hour on C band. On a trip to the bedroom, decided to go ahead and move the C band dish to the satellite...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

With the dropped costs of FTA receivers on ebay, looking to bid on an HD unit in place of the old Pansat. That would allow playing the AC3 audio music channels on G-17, the HD channels, and with diseqc 1.2 can even interface with the GBOX 3000.

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Hooked an old Pansat 2500A receiver in the bedroom to only one of the dual C Band LNB's outputs directly with no switches, and the problem is masked. Only drawback is the old receiver is non HD, so can't watch C Band HSN, QVC, ION, or RFD HD in the bedroom. Every thing else functions, so far...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Pedro Sounds like a good idea, just use a separate cheap receiver for the C Band. To try the splitter idea, I have to bring my old Pansat 2500s back to life anyway. Be a few days to dig them out of the attic or where ever I put them away and install an updated channel list for the C Band...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Haven't done a blind scan. The quality goes to zero on channels I have scanned in. Seemed the only way that would happen is if the switching mechanism is somehow being effected and blocks the signal. That's why I at first thought it was the 22KHz switching signal coupled through the C band...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Swapped out the GeoSat dual C Band LNB for one of my old Ku circular LNB's. The test shows that the problem is not unique to the GeoSat LNB. Probably just as well, if there isn't any good replacement for the GeoSat to be found. The testing both ways has shown one other symptom I hadn't...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Brian Just starting in C Band, so I have only the one GeoSat dual output LNB. I could pop in an old circular dual Ku LNB to see what happens on Echo/Nasa or one of the open channels. Needs some channel editing first. If the GeoSat LNB looks to cause it, what other brands & model dual output...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Both the 2x4 multiwitch and non Ecoda 22Khz switches came Friday night. So this morning, bench checked them with my Digisat meter and scope. The 2x4 multiswitch killed nearly all 22Khz signal from the Digisat into one the RX ports and out the other three. With the scope amplification at max...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

I'll keep this idea in reserve, if the 2x4 switch doesn't do it. The 2x4 switch only needs me on one lower roof where the C band dish is located.

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

I've read that having a switch between the receiver and motor can burn out the switch with the motor current. So I did the receiver direct to the motor, then to the switch as the best practice.

    Lining up a Sadoun SD180PM

You are just over a degree north of my latitude, so your south satellite numbers should be very near mine, and they are. My experience with the dish had signals from adjacent birds overlapping each other, so I'd think anything within a degree should at least get a signal, even if not at the...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Status update. First, tried bonding all the antennas together in a star pattern from the C Band dish. The diseqc switches, 22KHz Ecoda switches, and the C Band LNB were either daisy chained or wired in another star pattern at each antenna, in case coax ground shield was the problem. Result...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

No they are not ground bonded together. Could try that while awaiting the parts I ordered. Doubt its RF coupling. The signal goes to zero on a wanted signal if the other Pansat has selected the opposite dish. But could try shortening the coax and separating them as well. But today was...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

I agree, the signal through the LNB looks pretty small; to cause what I see as interfering from one system to the other. I've tried running both systems from the same power outlet, and saw no difference. The 22khz switch and 2x4 multiswitch idea fix is waiting for the mail to arrive in a...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Great information Anole. I'm going to have to start doing drawings like you, instead of trying to to type a picture using _,-, & | characters. Looks like two ways of attacking my problem. First, if it is 22KHz coupling through the LNB and back into the other Pansat's switching. I'm using...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Yes, might try that. But looks like the wife wants to watch TV now, not play with TV. Interesting idea, never used one before. So would I leave the existing selection as is and the 2x4 multiswitch is just inserted near the dual LNB? Like this. |-----|out #1-------LNBV .... RX1-----to...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Confirmed the Digisat 3 meter does have a 22KHz detect function when connected to the receiver's output. So did a quick check to see if 22KHz was leaking through the LNB. The Digisat did not detect a 22KHz signal at the disconnected terminal on the C band LNB with the other half using the...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Tried Lak7's idea of one receiver each way. Still fouls things up but then when both are on the same satellite instead of opposite ones. Finished by putting everything back the way it was to start. Actually that failure mode seemed to be the least offensive of the three combinations. I have...

22KHz signal coupling through dual LNB

Thanks SatelliteAV, gives me something else to try. I just finished trying a different approach. I switched the channel list on both Pansats to swap the use of 22KHz between Ku & C, and then swapped the coaxes on the 22KHz Encoda switches. Figured if the 22KHz was the culprit, going to the C...
