recorded programs dont show under List in Genie but in Mini Genie

This has been happening on our HR54 for months now. All the recordings show up on our kitchen HR24 though. The only way for us to quickly find a recording is to start it on the HR24 , stop it and then go to the HR54 and find it under "Continue Watching". Not convenient at all. Does anyone...

Super Frustrated With Listed Recordings Now HR54--New (Update (??)

Frustrating for sure. Hard to tell our 3 yr. old that I can't find her show right away. If I cannot find a workaround for this I may put the HR54 in the kitchen and bring back the 24 for the living room. Stupid update :( Any idea when a new update is scheduled? Hoping they will have a fix...

Super Frustrated With Listed Recordings Now HR54--New (Update (??)

What is strange to me (anyways) is that I can go into our kitchen where I have our old HR24 and all the list is intact and I can watch it from there. I am pretty sure that the HR54 still has all the recorded stuff, it's just a pain to have to search through it.

Super Frustrated With Listed Recordings Now HR54--New (Update (??)

Hi Guys, Ever since the latest update to the box (HR54),our list of recorded shows is really bad. By that I mean that sometimes I can see some of the recorded stuff and other times it is not there. Common sense would tell you that if you tell it to show all recordings, then everything will...

New Receiver Is Activated But It Doesn't Know It??

Hi Guys, Just activated the new HR54. It went through a software update, the usual self checks but ends up back on a screen telling me to activate it. Did a red button re-boot, a refresh but still nothing. Checked my account and all the number are correct and it is listed on the...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K cool, I think that is the way we will go then--that will do everything we need it to.

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

We already have the HR24 and a new 54 and a client but yes, that BIG old Panasonic TV is worthless and our kitchen Samsung is probably a $50 piece used at this point--works great but we all know the value of used electronics.

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K. yes that makes sense. Was hoping it would be right in sync but I understand better how it works now. I guess it we want it to work the same way we hav it now we don't really need a client and go directly off the HR54 to the kitchen TV via component cables (with an adapter). The downside...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K. Right now I have component cables coming out of the HR24 to the kitchen TV so we can see the same thing live/recorded as the main TV as the Daughter watches--apparently, this is mandatory and I don't think I could do it with the new HR54 and a HR24 in the kitchen--hoping a client (in the...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K. still wrapping my head around this--I think I got it. One more question..........If I have the new HR54 in the living room, the client in the kitchen. Let's say I have a recording in the living room playing, can it play at the same time on the client?? The wife likes to have a recording...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

I think the tentative plan is to use the HR54 on the main TV, the client for the kitchen TV ( this way we can watch something different from the living room) and then use this cable adapter to go to the old analog TV and. Once we are up and running, send back the HR24. That way we are paying...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

Starting to wonder if I really need to add the client at all. If I keep my HR24 and add the HR54, what will be the monthly additional charge? What will it be if I do the above and add 1 client? I may be able to make it all work (not exactly of course) with just my HR24 and the new HR54.

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

I was hoping to send back the HR24 once I was up and running with the HR54/client combo. $ $wise aren't I better off doing that and buying a client for the basement old TV??

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K.Ii think I follow you. Now I have seen a converter box that takes in HDMI and sends out composite--a converter. So far I am good. Now currently, I have a HR54 and a C61 client. I was thinking of activating them in the next few days. So are you saying if I don;t add the second client at...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

For sure, that makes perfect sense. Now, since there is only an HDMI out from the HR54 ( I doubt I could split the HDMI coming out of the receiver--could I??) , I can't see how I could send a composite/S video signal to that old TV though--I think a client is the only way (maybe a dumb...

Hooking Up An Older CRT TV To a Genie

O.K. quick search found this from Radio Shack: for $40 HDMI to Coaxial Converter Adapter I also seeen a (better?) unit to go from HDMI to composite/S video also. So I could get another genie for that old TV and use this to connect but, is DTV going to charge me for each client I hook up and...
