OK, I finally bit the bullet after several tries with CSR roulette, and upgraded to HD. Cost was $100 for receiver upgrade (two VIP 222k's) and $15 for the Tech visit. The Tech installed another Dish500 dish pointing at 61.5 to compliment the already installed dish receiving 110 & 119. But...

Well, trying CSR roulette didn't work. They wouldn't budge at waiving the $100 upgrade fee ($50/rcvr). Oh, "they'd hate to lose me as a customer", but not bad enough to waive 100 bucks. Called back a fourth time and I gave in. HD's comin' on Saturday morning!

If you outright purchase a second 222/722 receiver are you charged the $14/$17 per month? I called a few minutes ago to inquire about upgrading to HD (I think I'm the last in the US to do this) and DN wanted $50 per receiver and $15 Technician charge to upgrade my 322's to 222k's. This was the...

Hey, this is great news. It always pays to search old posts. But, what "splitters" do I need to get? BTW... I called DN to get the necessary equipment and they could only send me the 15 dB attenuator, not the splitters. They referred me to my local installer for the other equipment.

Help a noob out. Why is it important to own the equipment? Under the lease, will they charge me a per-month fee for the receiver?
