The best thing about Cinemax with Dish is getting it for a penny by signing up for autopay. I don't watch it a lot, but have gotten more than a penny's worth of enjoyment out of it. : )

I know for a fact that this is true. Cox Cable, in this area, removed a local channel for several days a few years back over a contract dispute.

DirecTV? To the best of my knowledge, they effectively shut down piracy several years ago. Go to alt.dss.hack if you want to see a ghost town.

I loved Dark Shadows on Sci-Fi Channel as well, but hated they way they began cluttering the show with animated blurbs for other programming. MPI began releasing the series on DVD several years ago, and I started collecting the volumes as they were released from amazon.com.

DirecTV offers similar deals to new subscribers all the time...I'd love to know how many of their recently acquired subscribers are actually paying full price for their packages...and how many of them are aware of what they will be paying once the introductory "freeloader" period is over...

I'd be very surprised if DirecTV offered no type of temporary inducement to get you to stay. Dish Family is the better and less expensive of the lowest priced packages that each service offers, but call Direct to see what they might do. I switched from Direct to Dish because of rising prices...

Currently, I can't get RTN's website to load over here. A few hours ago it was fine. Shoot...I've never had a chance to even see the channel, as the nearest affiliate is over 200 miles away.
