I am not sure, but it could just be because the HD channels are Dolby Digital, wheras the SD channels are just stereo. I know that the DD can often have a lower volume. As for solution, I don't know.

I like your HD Ultimate idea, make it truly ultimate. That would definitely make it worth the money. Right now it just isn't worth it. I like HDNET Movies, that is about the only thing I will miss. But it isn't worth $120 a year.
