So glad I happened to wander into this thread. Just made the call & went from 60/5 to 100/10 in a few minutes of my time for no more $$$! First speed test is 94.46/11.46, excellent! I'm in Michigan, north of Flint.
Thanks for taking the time Bobby, appreciate it. I actually have a very good outdoor antenna with rotor but it's near tall old oak trees and especially in the summer (leaves) when the winds blowing at a good clip the signal gets broken up. To reliably get locals I still need them from Dish. This...
Sorry if this is common knowledge. I haven't been around here in awhile. I've had Dish for well over 20 years and have the Top 200 package, a 722K & 722. My locals were always included and I just noticed I'm being charged $10 @ month for 'em. Seems like they started charging for them a long time...
I'm trying to use dishanywhere. I had to download new software which seemed to go ok but I end up with a window that says initializing. The "bar" on that window loads but that's all she wrote, can't get it to work--that window just sits there.
Thanks guys-
Ed
When/IF Charter ever actually gets the World Box or some other DVR that's decent and a channel guide that makes sense I'll sign up. I'm not up to parting with $500+++ to go with the Tivo solution to get what should be provided with it's TV service to begin with. I currently have the dated 722 &...
Your post has taken care of any thoughts of switching to Charter from Dish for me. There have been so many posts for a very long time about their ancient DVRs and muddled programming guide. You'd think they would have corrected this by now.
Since I can't find it I assume Max Go is no longer available on Roku. ??? I'm sure I HAD it before but can't even find the app on my Roku. Yeah, I subscribe to Max, actually got it for free.
Geeze Spike, thanks for the reminder to count my blessings. All of a sudden my arthritis, which I have pretty bad, stopped bothering me at all! Hang in there, we're pulling for you. My best to you and yours.

I've got phone and internet. Both have been great and in about 2 years has only been down for a very short length of time due to major storms. I'm paying $73 @ month. Internet alone would be $69 @ month so having phone is a no brainer.

I've only had Charter for internet a little less than 2 years but it's been rock steady. Been very happy them. Mine only averages 66 down & 4.5 up--PLENTY fast enough for me.

Did a chat tonight and got Starz for $5 @ month for 6 months, no problem at all. Of course when the 6 months is up if I still want it it'll still be $5 or I'll cancel.

So how's the picture quality in these parts? I went with Charter for internet & phone some time ago partly because of feedback from you and have been very happy with them. Like primetime guy I'm concerned about set up costs. With splitters and some mirroring I've got HD in 5 rooms with 2 Dish...
