OTHER Televes 85cm Orange Ku Band Dish

Wow, that's a blast from the past. Pretty sure I purchased that pair from "Mr. Tony". Got a lot of use out of both and they performed pretty well...think I still have one of them.

    OTHER Ku Dish Farm Advice?

I don't know what your level of knowledge is regarding switches but this is a great place to start: https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/switches-simplified.133554/ Anole, R.I.P. There is a lot more info in this thread than what you asked about but it might give you some ideas...

    Titanium Satellite Reach Limit error

You should try going through the troubleshooting steps and questions/suggestions above, if at all possible, before you give up on that unit. Especially considering one of the guys that laid it out for you knows more about that box than anyone else in the WORLD. :biggrin But...if you have...

OTHER Could use some help for an up-to-date receiver short-list

They were for the deeper (low f/D ratio) dishes. I think I may have had one at one time but never had a dish that might have benefited from it. Not sure how effective they were.

OTHER Acuator info-Need Help-Replacing an old Maspro

I think most of the old receivers would work with reed switch/magnet wheel setups. If you could post a pic of your actuator/sensor setup at the dish and the back sides of your receivers I'm sure one of the old BUD installers here could steer you in the right direction.

OTHER Acuator info-Need Help-Replacing an old Maspro

I am still using a Toshiba 1820 installed in 1993 to move one of my BUDs and it works great. Have seen and remember the Unidens and GIs but never owned one. Do you have remotes for both/either? That might help you make you choice. Lots of the old IRDs got took out by the batteries going bad...

    OTHER best box

You will not get any C-band with that little dish, Ku-band only, so don't waste your money on a C-band or a C/Ku combo LNBF.

[Viewsat] Is it worth to upgrade from a Viewsat VS PRO?

Your Viewsat is still useful for G19 Ku since a lot (most?) of the signals on there are DVB-S. A newer receiver like the Amiko Mini HD from KE4EST would receive the DVB-S2 signals. You can look at the Lyngsat and sathint sites and see what is up there that is DVB-S2 and fta, that will give you...

Openbox Need help with sat tester

I don't know what the "cnx" is but you should be able to receive DVB-S signals with your Pansat if it, and the rest of your system is functional. Lyngsat, and the other sat signal info sites will show you, on each transponder, on each satellite, if the signal is in DVB-S, DVB-S2, or some other...

OTHER 1.2m dual C/Ku band with motor, possible?

You should know going in that the combo C/Ku LNBFs are somewhat of a compromise (maybe due to the different focal points in the feed tube?) but that being said, if it says Titanium on it it's gonna be good stuff. You will be limited with what you can receive on C-band with a 1.2 meter dish...

OTHER New to fta have a few questions

Have you tried dishpointer.com? Your new dish will have 20-some degrees of offset, so it will look like it is almost aiming into the ground when "looking" 14 degrees above the horizon. Here's a couple of pics where I am aiming a fixed offset dish at 30W from the Springfield MO-area, about...

GEOSATpro Easiest way to mount satellite dish??

For the motor to track the satellite arc it has to be attached to a perfectly plumb stable mast of some sort. If you just want to aim at one satellite you can attach it to a ladder, a tree, the bumper of your vehicle or the leg of a well-mannered goat (that will stand perfectly still). My...

OTHER Universal LNB - Linear - on a DISH NET 1000.2 dish

Yeh dishpointer is a great tool. The sun method is cool too. If your dish location is in the shade when the sun is at the sat location you are interested in it's a no-go, if it's in the sun the dish can "see" it.

OTHER Universal LNB - Linear - on a DISH NET 1000.2 dish

There are some free satellite locator apps if you have a smartphone, just hold your phone up facing south and it will show you the arc and sat locations, really handy for figuring out your line-of-sight limits. And twice a year (coming up in March I think) the sun actually travels the satellite...

    OTHER V-Sat Dish

My guess is since there are huge numbers of locations where big-pipe internet is not available, and the satellite-based infrastructure is already in place and working maybe they just go with it?

    OTHER V-Sat Dish

Credit card and lottery transactions are typical uses, and lots of them are located where there is probably no hi-speed internet available. Well worth procuring, you can't beat those commercial dishes for durability and performance, especially when cheap or freeeeeee.

OTHER Stab HH90 high pitch squeal

GEOSATpro need to replace Geosat pro

Another consideration for the A3...if you don't have a good broadband internet pipe a lot of the features of the A3 are not usable. Wish I had good broadband, would definitely have an A3 if I did.

    OTHER Drambox DM100S help

You don't need to change your sat list, especially if you are just wanting to view one satellite. Just configure the settings of the receiver properly and either blind scan or manually input the transponder info. The receiver doesn't "know" or care what satellite it is aimed at. If the dish...

OTHER X2 Mini and Hughes Net Dish not receiving anything

Maybe old news to you but did you know that your (offset) dish is looking about 22 or 23 degrees higher than it "appears" to be? Dishpointer has a deal that will tell you approximately how high an obstacle (the tree) your dish can "see" over if you can locate the pointer close to where your...

GEOSATpro microHD-Ku dish moving to first active sat in list

That's interesting. I don't use editors, but will see if I have a Ku sat that is further east than 30W in my list (so it will appear first in the list), will activate it and not assign any motor info. Maybe that will work also. But I guess that sat would have to scan in something to make...
