Help needed to get the CWs back on 91w G-17.

Much thanks, ke4est! I tried it right away and got the audio working, but no picture. Fixed the video by selecting "H-264" video type. Turns out that I had the correct PIDs, but the wrong audio and video "types". For anyone interested, my working settings are now; 3720 H 28800 3/5fec, Pilot...

Help needed to get the CWs back on 91w G-17.

I need some help relocating the CW channels Can someone please post their working PID entries? I'm able to "lock" with excellent Q, but can't get the stations to materialize. I'm getting nice S and Q at 3720 H 28800, but no pic/audio. Good S, but no Q at 3990 V 14400. I've looked at both...

    Scanning C-band Again

Hi Rodder, I read your last post and went to see what I could get on those two sats. I was able to get "PA Cable Network" and "Once TvMexico" (both at 66% Q) on 83W C-band. Nothing at all on 72W C-band. I am still able to get Ku-band channels on either sat, RTV, TuffTV on 83W, and the NBC...

    10 foot dish mounting post

No No, not the axles! The first bump you go over will either bend the pipe, or snap the axle housing! Hang it from the bumpers, clear of the moving parts. Now, if you had "tongue-in-cheek" when you said that, I must admit, you had me going on that one!:o

    AMG-TV Gone? Or just me?

Thanks jibaro, I just took a second look at LyngSat, and there it was! SatHint hasn't changed it yet. Cheers!

    AMG-TV Gone? Or just me?

I've been trying to watch AMG-TV on 97w, Gxy-19. 3991 H 9981 3/4, DVB-S. It was there a few months ago, but not coming in for me lately. I'm using their website's coordinates, but still not seeing the channel. It has disappeared from LyngSat, but is still listed on SatHint. Is it just me...

    dead gbox 3000

Hi tofica, how did you make out with your repairs? I have the same box, if need be, I can have a look inside mine and tell you the value of that particular resistor. Now, if you've decided to replace your Gbox with a new one, perhaps we could swing a deal on your old one? My "<" (left) button...

10ft BUD - Removal by Myself - Can it Be Done

Sounds like you're on the right track with the LNB and it's support arms first, after the actuator. Don't be shy to break the old bolts, it's best to replace them all anyways. +350 million people in the States, and all you need is an extra pair of hands. Doing this job on your own may result...

    Nasa Feed

You haven't given us much to go on, please provide details. Are you trying for NASA on 87w AMC-3/C? (linear, 4000 H, 28111 3/4) For linear signals, don't insert the dielectric plate, it's for circular signals. Is your receiver all set up for C-Band? Are you aimed at the right bird? Are you...

standard dmx 741 c ku band lnb is it compatible with birdog plus settings or not?

Hi again, I'd like to apologize for my first post. I thought the BirdDog Plus was a receiver. Now I understand that it's a signal meter. Sorry 'bout that! This grasshopper still has much to learn! lol

standard dmx 741 c ku band lnb is it compatible with birdog plus settings or not?

I'm not familiar with the BirdDog Plus, but do you have the thing set up for C band in the antenna setup menu? For C band, LNB frequency is 5150, Ku band is 10750 with 22KHz switch "on" (if using the co-ax jumper as shown in the advertisement). The only other thing I can think of, is the new...

DSR 920 Battery replacement with pictures

Nicely done! Am I correct to say this procedure is the same for the DSR-905, or any other unit that needs battery replacement? I gather it is essential to maintain proper voltage to the board while doing the swap. I've never done one before, but I have a 905 that likely needs a new battery...

    W5?, G1?, T4?, Please Translate.

Thanks Anole, I scroll past those stickies so often, I seldom slow down to have a close look! I'm getting a bit more familiar with the subject now, and that makes it easier to find what I'm looking for. Cheers!

    DSR905 Noob Needs Guidance.

Oh, I see we've been moved. Sorry Iceberg, about starting in the wrong spot. Well, I hooked the 905 to loop on the AZ, and found only 1 open channel, RRTv on W1 (103w). Also a few audio-only on G0 (I think?), must've been radio. I even managed to freeze the thing once, I was on the wrong...

    W5?, G1?, T4?, Please Translate.

Can someone please tell me how to translate the 4DTV satellite descriptors (W5, G1, T4, etc.) into arc positions? I am only familiar with DVB, and this seems to be a new language to me. I'd like to try out an old DSR905 Sidecar that came with my 10'er, but I have no idea where to point the...

    DSR905 Noob Needs Guidance.

Thanks Guys. I've just been browsing the links you all posted, lots of good reading in them! As suggested, I think I'll read a whole bunch first, before re-posting in the 4DTV section. Thanks again. Cheers.

    DSR905 Noob Needs Guidance.

Hi All. I recently found a 3 year old thread that touched on the "4DTV DSR905 Sidecar". This got me interested in the one I've got. I was given the DSR905, a GI-2750R (VCII) receiver, AND the awesome 10 foot "Perfect-Ten" mesh dish that I've been using since last summer. The previous owner...

    Another BUD Saved

Don't go near the probes, measure from the rim of the opening. Fine tuning comes later. Ideally, the signals are focused 1/4" inside the tube (feed horn) and are then guided to the probes. Keep at it, Cheers.

New to FTA and need help with AMC-15 105W NBC channels

Thanks jsattv, I'll give it another try later. My AZ Premium-HD doesn't have much of a scanner, my best results are with manual scans. I have 3 other STBs that I could "loop" out of the AZ, but I don't know if any of them will pick up the DVB-S2 8PSK transponders. It's worth a try I guess...

New to FTA and need help with AMC-15 105W NBC channels

Hey jsattv, I too was finally able to scan in H-3780 for the four HD-NBC channels and also got Universal Sports. But that V-3920/30000 has been a real bugger for me, I got a lock once and got 10 channels that where all scrambled. The names showed up as SID:1, SID:2, SID:3, etc., but all...

    Finally!

I'd like to offer an opinion on your "crooked" scalar ring. Your loss of signal at 87w (other sats too?) in the morning when the sun arrives, could be due to "terrestrial interference", something the scalar ring is designed to cope with when properly aligned near the dish's focal point. The...

Got a dish, please help ID.

Nice score! Looks like a fun project! What's the diameter? How far away was it? You might get away with not moving any mount adjustments! Be careful putting your ears at the focal point, these dishes reflect sound really well too. lol! Don't be afraid to snap any bolts, they can be replaced...
