OTHER C Band Orthomode Feed. How do you switch LNB's?

Late to the party, been out for awhile. I still run the old time Corotor turned by a servo motor. And separate C and Ku LNBs. No 5g out here, and I like my old setup. What I do is use my analog box for dish moving and servo motor polarity. It’s also nice for fine tuning the rotation (especially...

    Favorite short-lived TV show?

Our House (Wilford Brimley) 2 seasons, late 80s. Though I personally don’t consider something that made it a second season “short lived”. Heartland (Brian Keith), late 80s or maybe 1990. 6 episodes I think. Family Tree, 1983, 6 episodes. I’m sure there are more.

Anyone here interested in tough, long-lasting vehicles?

Absolutely. That’s all I drive. Got a Jeep XJ that I’ll keep fixing the rust on. As everything is available, they’re simple and tough. Also got a couple 1989 GM cars with the 3.1 MPFI engine (not the 3100). Tough, simple, reliable, will go to 300k and beyond easily. One has 312k and still gets...

    Vevo music on Roku

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched this. But I used to be able to set my video playlist by genre and decade. For example only play country music from the 80s. I can’t seem to find how to do that anymore. Is that feature gone, or is it hiding somewhere?

    Lesea Feeds Gone

Good to know. I was just watching it the weekend before it went down. I liked FETV and KWHE.

    Polarity Issue

Not sure if it’s totally proper, but I found one of my receivers wasn’t putting out the correct 13/18v. What I did was patch in a plain old splitter and short piece of coax, and tested the voltage. That made sure I was also capturing the voltage drop from the LNB.

    OTHER lost movies/stories/ catchy mux

I’ve been watching Start TV today with no problem. Northern lower Michigan. It is much weaker than usual, like quality 15. But I wasn’t sure if it was the beam, or the horrendous rainstorms we are getting all weekend.

    It got dark

I went to Findlay Ohio. I’d say it was more dusk than dark. But still super cool and much better weather than one could hope for in early April. I saw the one in 2017 too.

    Repurposing broken actuators

This link is what we use at work. But I like the Venture guide, it shows additional applications. https://dresserutility.com/wp-content/uploads/NGS-IPG-0028.pdf

    What Happened to Everybody?

^You might have to tune in the dish after that long. I read somewhere the declination angle in the sky changes over time and you’re supposed to adjust it every year or two or whenever it goes out. I’m still running my Echostar C band LNB that was on the dish when I got my house in 1999. I...

    Patient Channel 87w

I know it's not the same, but I found this. Links to the clips that were shown on the Patient Channel (Wellness Network). The passcode 02173 was on a neighboring link on the first page of Google. I happened to see both and used them together. https://www.healthclips.com/facility/02713/Library

    What Happened to Everybody?

I still have my 920 and 922. Haven’t used them since 2016. Think I paid around $250 for the 922. The 920 I got for free later on. I much preferred the 920 piggybacked to the analog box. The 922 would store the satellite position every time you bumped the dish and that drove me nuts. Other than...

    What Happened to Everybody?

On a lot of industrial equipment, the satellite actuator is just an Andco actuator which they’ve built since the 70s. We use them as a substitute for a pneumatic cylinder on knife gates and rotary valves, but they show a satellite dish in the list of applications. And where you can use an Andco...

BUDs Bath in Warm Winter!! : - )))

I have washed my dish. Not only to make it look a little better, but to hopefully make snow not stick as bad. Think I used Simple Green and a bristle brush. Every year I think about going over the whole thing with wax to maybe really help, but never get around to it. Summer too short as it is here.

Need help receiving PBS on 99W with my setup

Here in northern lower Michigan I’ve never had an issue with the 99W PBS and they’ve always been very good. Right now I am getting 86% quality on both polarities (Montana PBS one one, and then Create, World, etc. on the other). I do have a 10 ft dish however.

BUDs Bath in Warm Winter!! : - )))

Looks good! Yeah we had about 45F in northern lower Michigan, and looks to be about the same for Christmas too. Nothing new though, 1997 another El Nino year we got close to 70F around Christmas. I was hoping they would open the Dairy Queen.

    This is likely 5G, right?

Yes, good to check first. And even if the receivers are fine, there could be a bad spot in the cable from there to the dish.

    This is likely 5G, right?

I thought I was having 5g problems, though I was sure there was no 5g out here. It acted just like the way people describe 5g interference. Periodic breakup despite good quality numbers. I had checked cables, LNBs, everything, even tried one from Titanium. Turned out my FTA box wasn’t putting...

    What Happened to Everybody?

One reason I enjoy FTA is because I don’t like most of what’s on network TV today. Also I can only get a few OTA channels anyway. Those who live in/near big cities got a huge selection. But living in the sticks is a worthwhile tradeoff for me. And I won’t pay for streaming services. If I can’t...

    What Happened to Everybody?

I’m still here and will be until the end. No 5G out here and may not ever be, which is good. I enjoy looking around and seeing what I can find. And using the technology that to most people is long forgotten, that is if they know about it in the first place. Kinda like working on my old cars. I...

    What Happened to Everybody?

https://www.mcnichols.com/ This is the company my work uses. They have a huge selection of meshes, expanded metal, perforated sheet, etc. They might have the matching material for your dish.

For me, X4 means the satellite at 105W that had the last run of 4DTV before it ended.

    Help

For me, Reelz has been very weak for years. The other channels on that satellite are fine. I can’t even get it to scan in anymore.

    4156H Dark On 99W.

I can kinda sorta get NBC and ABC with my antenna when the weather is clear, not too common for here. They’re like 40-50 miles south but almost in line with several lakes. But CBS and FOX, zilch. They’re supposedly only 18 miles but they’re more like due east, and the way the land is cut from...

    Intelsat 18 180.0E Ku

I started with satellite arc info, then printed off my yard in google maps, that was the most up to date. From there I drew in the limits of the arc I wanted to see. For locating my dish, I put it so the tallest tree was due south at about 87w or so. And I could still get Alaska (at least when...
