iirc you can't have a switch down line from any twin. It's been a while, I installed thousands of these back in the day but that was over 20 years ago! Took the first 501 that came in home with me, think it as April 2001. Loved that receiver.

You need to get rid of that splitter.

A DP twin should only do 2 steps, you have a bad tuner in the 510, a bad DP twin or bad connection.

Locals for my area launched on 61.5 and moved to 110 with the launch of the 500. I remember going back to repoint all the 61.5 dishes to 110 in the summer of 2000.

1998 seems early for the 500, not doubting you. Going off memory, the first 500 I remember was in 2000. The twin wasn't ready yet so it shipped with two dual LNBs and two SW21s. Hooked it up to a 3700/2700.

The industry has changed, traditional cable and satellite are dying. All the good new programming is now going to the streaming apps leaving nothing but reruns on traditional TV. You can get reruns for free on Pluto.

Android devices can run a VPN, I have a $15 onn streaming stick I travel with, allows me to use US apps all over the world. Works great! Sometimes takes me a couple minutes to get past the hotel's splash page for Wi-Fi and to get the TV to an HDMI input, but I've always managed to get it going.
