    I, too, was an OLED droid. But other technologies today produce almost as good a picture on SELECT videos. Same quality for most videos. And LAST MUCH LONGER! And the NEXT big thing? OLET? Haven’t heard much lately.

    Geostationary orbit. About 22,000 miles up. ~500 milliseconds round trip, IIRC. Noticeable delay. Fine for one way communications, such as video. Not so good for two way. Intolerable for serious gaming.

    Again, sigh. Dish "rents" certain rights. They cannot just distribute anything in any way they wish. There are many content owners, and each negotiates packages as they please. How programs are distributed, and for how long, are contracted for.
