Wow, I can honsetly say that is an answer that I would never had suspected. Personally I'd totally prefer 1080 (and I get the feeling I'm in the vast minority by saying that I prefer 1080 for sports content).

Ok, after several more horrible NBC HD experiences, I finally dug out the ol' Samsung SIR-T165 digital OTA receiver to see if too exhibited these same characteristics on it's DVI output. It turns out it did. So the fault lies with the network or affiliate, not my 811.
