I think it has to do with buying/selling Bell equipment in the US & Vise Versa with Dishnetwork in Canada. So selling is fine as long as in the country your selling it in, the receiver can be legally subscribed to.
If your TV doesn't support a specific resolution, expect to go low-res.
So if your HDTV can't accept 720p natively your games will be down converted to 480p
The Panasonic Q was quite an impressive unit.
But i agree with no DVD support to cut down the system's cost. But i think they should offer DVD playback for purchase with Wii points for those who want it.
That's put in place so people don't dupe items by giving them away, reloading the old save with the old item ect... I don't like it but it keeps the cheaters/ebayer's at bay.
Sony pays for the consoles up front (manufacturing & stuff), then gets the money back when people buy the units. So if the consoles don't sell, then they don't recoup any money.
With PS3 and Xbox 360 fighting over the HDTV market base, the Wii will potentially have a greater potential consumer base. Yes there are people who don't see a point to investing in an HDTV yet.
I don't see the PS3 outselling the Wii unless the PS3 turns out to be a quality BLU-RAY player.
Actually, since Sony already paid for the console before they hit the stores(production/assembly cost) the only way to bankrupt them is to not buy it. Paying for one will help Sony recooperate most of the cost.
