When I saw the original post my first thought was "oh boy!", then I saw the part about the two year commitment. I've been with Dish for over 20 years but there's no way I'm going to commit for two more years. The next jump in prices may be the last for me.

The signal can bounce off an air plane or helicopter too. When the two signals arrive at different times, it freaks out the tuner and it has to reassemble the picture all over again from one source or the other. I live in a terrible fringe area too and feel your pain.

The OTA "adapter" for the 211 is built in - not an add on device. I bought a "Wally" a few years ago but it's still in the box. After looking it over, I decided to leave it there even though I bought all the adapters to make it functionally the equivalent of the 211k.
