I battle with Uverse every year. $89 with $35 internet ends up $200. Wait on hold for 20 minutes negotiate, and it always ends up $5 higher than the year before.

Charter is/was based in St Louis. Horribly managed company. The board fired the old CEO and they brought in someone new, and he moved the executives to NY, where he lives. Charter was in bankruptcy a few years ago, not sure how they survived.

So I'll have a coax from the sat to the Hopper (good, hopper on 1st level), a data line from router to hopper (hope so, CAT 6 already installed to wall outlet), than install a wireless access point into the hopper via CAT 6 cable and locate at the hopper. That layout will work...thanks

As I read from Scott's CES reports, Dish will release a supported wireless joey. It will operate from a wireless access point. Will the wireless access point be a wired device back to???? a Hopper, my wireless gateway, or? I'll switch back to dish once released, but my Uverse wireless access...

Curious as to what Uverse DVR problems he was having. I switched when we moved (for the wireless receivers) and other than picture quality, which Dish was better, the DVR works fine. I found no real difference between my 722 and 612 and Uverse's DVR.

Frankly, XM radio has gotten so bad that I'm considering dumping all 5 of our subscriptions in December. Same songs over and over. Sound quality poor, costs keep going up. Problem is I do like the internet radio feature...at $40/year. I may sub to Spotify

I had it and hardly used it...probably never. Get a Roku and pay $7 Hulu+ and you won't be sorry. Also, find someone who pays for HBO and use their provider login for HBOgo on Roku, I use that all the time.

I moved last year and switched to ATT Uverse for their wireless receivers. I moved to an old 2-story home with plaster walls. I've been happy with the wireless receivers and the DVR service. What I'm not happy about is the upcoming price increase. So I'm wondering if the wireless joey works...

Logged into HBOgo with my Samsung TV last night (watching Soprano's again...awesome show) and a message popped up saying HBOgo is now available on Apple TV. I haven't used my ATV for awhile, but sounds like a big change for Apple

Have to check out the Samsung smart LED sets. They have the most (useful apps) of any TV. HBO, HuLu, Amazon, VuDu, etc

Cancel the credit card Dish has on file, send their equipment back. and move on

The 612 has known problems. When I was on Dish, I went through 3 units. Mostly isolated to coax connection from OTA. Shorts something out. You'll have to get another one from Dish, problem won't solve it self
