It has to do with network connectivity, they are terrified that you might share it. The zapperbox decodes fine, but can not use it to feed your home.

That is the best and easiest set up that I use, A powered WNC 4x8 switch modded to 18 volts on the C-Band side and the Ku also. 10 foot unimesh brand new in the box six years ago with a Chaparral ortho and norsat 5 series LNB's and a 1.8 andrews with the original ortho and 2 Norsats on it. EBS pro is my go to for scanning sats. Gives all the info you nedd plus you can tune a TP and peak it. You can also play the channels direct from the program. DVB Dream is my main viewer.

Although I am a windows use, my TBS tuners are my go to over my STB's. So much more can be done with them.

I agree, I would leave the dish as is and put a small yagi for a scanner or TV In place of the LNB. a small dish antenna would not be great, but I have a channel master 1.8 I have always wanted to do with a yagi in front of it.

At least our local ABC affiliate, is still clear, their normal signal does not even begin to cover their market. At least for now I can get it of the lighthouse and still clear.
