Private Messaging / Conversations FAQs

Private Message or PM is now 'Conversations'

The software used by this forum refers to "Private messages" as "Conversations". These 'Conversations' are just like regular forum threads, only private between you and the recipient of the message. So in other words, they are 'Private Threads'.

The key thing to note is that there is no separate Inbox and Outbox. All the exchanges of message relating to one specific conversation are in a single thread - just like the threads in the forum.

I do not see a 'Start a Conversation' link on this member's profile, why is that?

There could be two reasons for this as follows:

1.) The Member has decided not to accept private conversations from anyone. (or)

2.) The Member accepts private conversation only from other members whom they 'Follow'.

In the latter case, you can start off by 'Following' this Member first and if they 'Follow' you back, you should be able to see the 'Start a Conversation' link on their profile page.

Where are my personal conversations stored?

You will be able to see a list of all conversations you have made under your Inbox. This includes, conversations you have started and conversations you have received.

How do I reach my Inbox?
