That address is TEMPORARY; please do not change your bookmarks. The auto-scanner remains offline, as do the Longley-Rice coverage maps (upload in progress), the blog (database issue I need to track down), TSReader data captures (will be uploaded after the maps) and probably other things I haven't noticed. If you come across anything besides the things I mentioned that does not work, please post a message here and let me know so I can be sure to verify that it works when I'm done.

Not sure if anyone uses the strength search tool, which is a much slower version of TVFool, but I'm probably not going to reinstall the software that powers it. In the long term, the TVStudy software I am involved with at work will be adapted to replace it, which was the plan all along, but given the fresh start, I think I'm just going to let it go now.

Alright, we've started the process of pointing the rabbitears.info domain at the new server. Over the next 24-48 hours, it should become available there.
The blog is still down with no ETA. Same for the auto-scanner. There's still quite a bit that I need to do on it, but it's functional enough that I don't feel panicked about it anymore.

There's no harm in letting it run; just means that it'll start recording again as soon as the server becomes available.

The temporary domain rabbitear.info (with no s) is no longer pointed at the new (temporary?) server, while work continues. rabbitears.info (with an s) should, by now, point to the new (temporary?) server until everything's settled.

I will say this much for this experience, I now know I should not ever give up the site, whether in a sale to someone else or shutting it down. I've ceased updating RabbitEars this week while I wait for the old server to be repaired (hopefully), which I'm hoping will allow me to avoid having to do any database transfers back and forth. It has been the among the most trying times I've ever had. I constantly find myself trying to go and update it or look at it and it's very unnerving to find that I can't. Perhaps I'm a RabbitEars addict?
I'm keeping a running list in my e-mail drafts of updates that need to be made in the non-FCC parts of the site and I'm up to about 10 things just since Thursday, not counting maps and FCC-related updates which I haven't been tracking. That's on top of code changes I want to do but can't at this time.
I've also pointed rabbitear.info back at the new server for the time being.

The site is awesome! I check my TVDX stats all the time and look at other tuner reports/maps often. I also look at the Longley-Rice coverage data for local channels often. I'm getting ready to buy my first home.... gotta make sure I'm picking a good spot with good signal/coverage Lots of excellent info on the site. Okay, so we're in the midst of a DNS update to move RabbitEars to a different server for at least a few weeks. This one should have MOST of the functionality we know and love. Right now, the auto-scanner is still down, as I will need Russ to set that up again, but almost everything else should be working. (I know the date on the front page for the latest blog entry is wrong.)
Once I'm confident that everything is stable, I'll try to get caught up on updates. Thanks again for your patience on this.

If your registrar allows it, you can set your Time To Live (TTL) relatively low and it should shorten your DNS propagation times.
The registrar that I use defaults to 1 hour but allows settings down to 30 minutes.
