Here is another SatelliteGuys DIRECTV rumor alert.

The rumor is that a new channel Fusion TV is up and in testing. Looks like we could see this one in the new year. :)

HD or SD?

There are 10 HD feeds labeled *TEST but they are using unusual PID's that are more like internal testing or private networks (maybe for CES?). The usual outcome of whats in the guide data ends up being nothing and goes away in time).

Those are regional sports feeds that are hidden for the NHL and NBA packages. Nothing to be concerned about those as they have always been there. :)

Update:

I have received word from a number of contacts at DIRECTV that this channel is NOT FUSION. But that the channel is a new channel called the El Rey Network, which will be airing on channel 341 in Widescreen SD format.

Just watched the video on their site. Looks like a good channel, but the SD is a major turn off. Those are some really good hit movies and looks like they also have some music / concerts as well. But to me theres no value if its not HD.

Hopefully its on the list to be converted to HD when the bandwidth from D14 becomes operational.

I have to say launching new networks these days is pretty ballsy with all the talk of cord cutting. Good luck to them!

Not really, if you understand the REAL reason why Comcast actually even launched this channel: (which we just got in glorious SD, as well as these other 3 nets recently)

Here is where the confusion w/Univision may come in:

Univision is making a strategic investment in Rodriguez's English-language El Rey Network, co-created with FactoryMade Ventures, with plans to launch the channel in December of this year with nation-wide distribution and initial carriage via Comcast.

Univision Communications will handle the network's back office operations, sales and distribution.

I'm watching El Rey Network right now and drifting racing is on currently, Seems like I'm watching Fast Furious Tokyo Drift :) I'm on Mas Ultra spanish package.
