Viewership continues to tank. Even the Super Bowl had lackluster numbers last year. I'm not sure I'd invest in the NFL right now. Unless there are significant changes on the horizon.

Thank you for saying this more succinctly than I could.

The NFL makes me laugh. They like the money it generates from DirecTV, yet are continuously deluding the product with increasing nationally televised games which pull from Sunday Ticket.
And what about the league's app? Does that any way devalue ST? I ask because my brother, a mega sports fan, misses Regional Sports a little bit, but watches most of his games on league apps or otherwise broadcast games and seems satisfied.

Network TV in general is tanking.
But TV sports watching fans has been found to be a MINORITY of the US population. This is why the ESPN's and Fox Sports and the regionals have always insisted on being available to all subscriber on, usually, the lowest tiers. If only sports fans were the only ones who paid to watch sports, NONE of those channels would make enough money to continue providing sports at the breadth and frequency they do.

You could say that about every channel on TV. If you were not forced to pay for every basic cable channel half of them would not exist.

Ok, your battles against TV via the internet has continued, here are some numbers based on what I posted-

In the United States, industry sources estimated a subscriber count of 147 million in 2021.

So what has the most potential for more Sunday Ticket subscribers, Amazon with 147 million or DirecTV with 15 million.

Also strange you are against Prime members only ( which there is no evidence yet) having access to NFST, when right now only D* subs have access.

What?

With a streaming device you can watch TV programming on any TV ( both paid and free ).
I have 4 TVs in the house, I can watch the game easily on all of them.
If it goes to Streaming I can only watch on 1 TV without going out and purchasing more boxes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it actually ends up costing bars less if Amazon NFLST happens. Many likely already have the internet service, just a matter of a solution to get it to the TVs. Wouldn't be able to drop their other service entirely, but no longer relying on DirecTV for the NFL could be a big hit to commercial subs as they opt for local cable options where it makes sense to do so.
You REALLY think the majority of Bars have accessible internet with enough bandwidth for streaming multiple games at on time ?

Don't you have to purchase boxes from DTV as well? Every outlet is extra cost.

Netflix is not having any issues with viewer numbers.
I have yet to turn on Netflix to watch SPORTS.
Netflix App is available FREE of Charge on most all TV this day and age.
It takes a few seconds to change a CHANNEL ... It takes WAY LONGER to change an APP from one to another if I want to view different games.
Same goes with programming ... I have NO DESIRE to have to have 5-10 different Apps to watch channels that I can get on one service very quickly.

But that time will come. Better to get ready now

I have Rokus sitting around that are older ones, they don't get updated, so you have to buy new ones if you want all your TV's covered ....
I don't use to many here now that I have Smart TVs, not enough are smart ones though.

Isn't there a max number of Streams available per App ?
Can I stream 4-5 different locations at the same time ?
