Greetings to everyone. :hatsoff:

I've viewed the forum before, but just joined today. I had recently purchased a DSR550 primarily for use as OTA receiver/tuner.

Question I have is can I route a local cable feed into the back of the 550 in order to get component video output? I would be taking a local cable feed [without STB] into antenna and hopefully obtain component video signal out to a projector.

Can this be done.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to participating in the forum.

Welcome to the forum!

No. The box can only decode over-the-air digital signals (8VSB).
It cannot decode digital cable, and it doesn't have a tuner for analog channels.
The only exception could be some local digital channels if your cable company passes them through (in 8VSB format). But that it is not common.

No surprise

Thanks for response, I thought this might be the case. I guess I will just add another antenna.

I already have an antenna but the feed isn't easy to get to or to redirect. I was hoping for the path of least resistance.

Thanks Again.
