Best restaraunts to get barbecue

I have heard of that place and man; with all their regional awards you would think they would try to attend the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest in Memphis.

I had lunch at Famous Dave's today. For a chain restaurant, their barbeque and sauces were pretty darn good - okay, they were excellent! Moreover, I am NOT a corn bread fan, but theirs was delicious. Additionally, their customer service and attention to detail was outstanding. The greeter and waitress delivered excellent service, and the manager later came out to welcome me and he presented me with coupons and a free bottle of one Famous Dave's signature sauce since it was my first dining at FDs. I am often disappointed with the quality of the food at chain restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised with Dave's. Highly recommended - two hooves up! http://www.famousdaves.com/locations/

I had not planned on dining at Dave's today since, as I mentioned, I tend to avoid chain restaurants. In fact, I had a morning meeting down in Richmond VA and had planned to have lunch at at place called Q Barbeque based on a recommendation from one of my contracted staff. My meeting lasted from 7-10:00 AM and, unfortunately, Q's didn't open until 11:00 AM. I had to be elsewhere for a 1:00 PM meeting so I couldn't wait around, but I still had a taste for BBQ and Dave's was convenient along the way. Does anyone have any experiences to share their BBQ? I'll probably be back down in Richmond in March. http://www.qbarbeque.com/home.html

Locally we have a BBQ resturant called Bad brads BBQ, great slow cooked BBQ. We also have another resturant in downtown detroit called Slows BBQ
